I'm a lot of things. This is an extension of those things.

A few friends and myself shot and edited a promo video for a local Winnipeg band, Imaginary Cities. It was great to dive into a project like this since it’s been so long since college.  Loads of fun.

We did a 2 camera shoot using Canon t2i’s.  Editing and grading was done in Premiere.

Lots of lessons learned on this shoot.

1. Ensure color profiles are the same before shooting!  Next time both of us should start on the neutral color profile or something similar.  Newbie mistake.

2. Hold b-roll shots a bit longer.  My shots were never held long enough in most cases.

3. When in doubt, re-shoot.

4. Lots of audio pops that could otherwise been avoided had the audio feed worked.

All in all I had a great time working on this and I’m eager to do another one.  It’s been a while since I did something like this.

Big thanks to Aaron Ives and Jon’Nathon Stebbe for the shooting assistance and Kert Gartner for allowing me to try out Handcraft Creative Slidr.
